HOST FAMILIES NEEDED

The Grand Lake Mariner Organization is looking for families to host Mariner players for the 2025 Summer Collegiate Baseball Season.

Since its beginning. the Grand Lake Mariners have been blessed with a number of Celina area families who have opened their homes and their hearts to these aspiring professional athletes.

Finding families willing to host our players is in some ways as important as finding the players themselves. The role of a host family is critical. While these young men are outstanding athletes it is easy to forget that they are also young adults. As a result, they deal with their own insecurities. They may be homesick, frustrated with their play, or struggling with a myriad of other problems faced by young people. Having a family to trust, nurture, provide emotional support, and model appropriate behavior during those times when they need it most is critical to their growth.

Host families make a significant difference in helping these aspiring professionals achieve their goals, while the players learn to adapt to a new environment, abide by a new set of rules, blend in with their new family, and conduct themselves in a manner that will reflect not only the athlete, but the college or university that he attends.

It is our hope that you will consider this opportunity to serve as a host family for the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate Baseball Season and open your heart and your home to a Mariner.

Please contact Michelle Rockwell at (937) - 638 - 0306 if you are interested in hosting a player for the 2025 summer season.

As a host family, you become a part of the Grand Lake Mariner family. Each host family is provided with complimentary season passes and will be honored on Host Family Appreciation Night at Montgomery Field.
